The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has finalised hosting rights for three youth continental tournaments and locked in a date for the 2026 CAF Super Cup following its latest Executive Committee meeting in Cairo, Egypt.
Egypt will stage the 2027 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which will double as Africa’s qualification route for the 2028 Olympic Games football event. Ghana was selected to host the 2027 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations, while Morocco will welcome the Under-17 edition in the same year.
CAF also confirmed that the 2026 CAF Super Cup will take place on 8 November 2026 in Pretoria, South Africa, with kick-off set for 15:00 local time. The match brings together the winners of CAF’s two leading club competitions.
On other matters, CAF said discussions about a proposed African Nations League are continuing, with the format and possible host countries still to be decided. The Executive Committee also reiterated its full support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the FIFA leadership.
These announcements provide more clarity for Africa’s youth football calendar and add another major club fixture to the continental schedule.
