President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made fresh appointments to key government positions and independent constitutional commissions, signalling a renewal of leadership across public administration.
In a statement on Thursday, the President named Engineer Tafadzwa Muguti as the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works. The appointment places Muguti at the helm of a ministry responsible for local governance, urban and rural development, and public infrastructure.
Alongside the new Permanent Secretary, Mnangagwa also announced new chairpersons and members for several independent constitutional commissions. The changes are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the country.
The appointments come at a time when Zimbabwe is pushing for reforms in local government and public administration. More details on the specific commissions affected are expected in the coming days.
