Masvingo played host to the largest edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani Dzimbabwe tourism expo, which concluded on 12 September 2026 with record participation. A total of 405 exhibitors showcased Zimbabwe’s travel products, while 153 international buyers explored business opportunities across the country.
Tourism officials described the event as a turning point for the sector, pointing to the diversity of buyers and the quality of networking sessions. Local operators from Victoria Falls, Hwange, Nyanga, and Great Zimbabwe reported strong interest from international markets.
In a separate development, a 12-day ministerial seminar on China-Zimbabwe cooperation concluded in Beijing. The programme offered Zimbabwean government officials practical exposure to China’s development approaches and opened avenues for collaboration in infrastructure, agriculture, and technology.
Both events underscore Zimbabwe’s dual focus on boosting domestic tourism and expanding international partnerships. As the tourism expo closes, industry stakeholders hope the contacts made in Masvingo will lead to increased arrivals and investment in the coming months.
With the global travel market showing renewed interest in Southern Africa, Zimbabwe is positioning itself as a competitive destination by combining its natural attractions with stronger bilateral ties.
